http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/surrey/7850785.stm The mother of Sarah Payne has been appointed to the post of "Victims' Champion". The post will last one year during which Mrs Payne will be involved in Criminal Justice policy making in order to put forward a view for victims of crime. Sounds quite useful, but it must to lead to a rather damning question: Are our MPs in such high ivory towers and so completely out of touch with reality that they have to appoint a token victim of crime to tell them what it's like to be a victim? Are they living in a eutopian fantasy completely untouched by the ills of life that the rest of us have to cope with? Do they have no imagina…

http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Business/...t_Worse_To_Come Small businesses are cutting jobs at the fastest rate in nearly 20 years - and there are predictions the situation is going to get worse. So why bring this up here? The Police are making cut backs in some areas of the UK, as shown in another news article in this section, as are other businesses. Are these companies in the article above doing it to themselves i ask. I give you an example, i had a contract with Tmobile which ran out last month, i was paying them £10 a month for 200 free min, and lots of text messages. This contract has been rolling over for 8 years, now they decide they want £20 a month. I c…

Source: The Bolton News Am sure his friends will welcome him back in there circle of friends when he gets out of prison in a couple of months. Im sure if you live in Bolton you would understand how high profiled it was because everyone in Bolton knew what had happened and wanted to find the killer. And I have to say well done to the GMP who worked on the case (even though its there job) and the witnesses who gave evidence against Leon. And the strangest thing is, you see murders which are in the paper, but this one has seemed to got everyone together and find out the killer.

the title sounded intresting so i clicked the hyperlink and read the full story. Police officers in Gosport and Fareham have issued a warning about a supply of heroin which may be dangerous. The warning comes after officers received information to suggest that this dangerous supply of heroin is in circulation in the Gosport and Fareham areas. At this time, officers do not have any information about whether or not this batch of heroin is different in appearance. However, police would urge anyone who has any information about this supply of heroin to get in touch. Detective Inspector Justin Norris, said: “It is important that people are aware of the consequences of …

THE family of a teenager killed in a stolen car crash today said he had paid the ultimate price for getting into trouble. Daniel Harding, 17, died at 5am after suffering serious head injuries in the smash yesterday evening. The teenager from Kirkby was a back-seat passenger in a blue Mini that had been stolen on Monday. Police said it had sped off after failing to stop when spotted by officers in Maghull and crashed with another vehicle and a wall. The driver and the front-seat passenger fled the scene and are being hunted by police. Today Daniel’s devastated father Joe said: “I would say to them ‘face up to what you have done’. “You’ve run away from the…

I picked this up in my local rag, no online link yet..... Two senior Hampshire police chiefs are being investigated over allegations they broke the Official Secrets Act. A major inquiry concerning the alleged leak is being led by the Metropolitan Police. One of the pair at the centre of the inquiry is former assistant Chief Constable Steve Watts, who was interviewed under caution by officers in South London after attending a police station voluntarily on a day off. Mr Watts retired from the force six days after being quizzed. However, he was a serving police officer at the time the claims were made. The other is thought to be an inspector who was arrested a day before …

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/7847593.stm Hampshire Constabulary has announced it will axe 200 jobs - 100 of them police officer posts - by the end of the year. Are Hampshire the only ones we now know of? There is an answer to all this, and an answer i have NP with. Set up more speed traps, make the money somehow. Other question is, were they over-staffed in the first place?
