Police officers in south London have been paying tribute to a colleague killed in a road collision in Bromley. Pc George Small, aged 29, was killed when the motorcycle he was riding was in collision with an Audi on Bromley Common, late on Wednesday. The officer was off-duty, returning from a shift as a traffic officer based at Catford traffic garage. He lived in Surrey with his wife Polly and their 17-month-old son Franky and had been a police officer since 2003. A new neighbourhood policing team has been put together to target offenders on the East Coast Mainline. The team, set up by the British Transport Police, will cover the route from Grantham in Lincolnshire to Berwick-upon-Tweed in Northumberland. The team will be based at York station but each will have their own geographical areas of responsibility. The officers will travel on the trains, talking to passengers and staff about issues that concern them. Two North Wales Police officers who were filmed kicking and throwing their pet dogs around have lost pay, but been allowed to keep their jobs. Pcs Anja Mason, 29, and Craig Macleod, 34, have both been docked 10 days' pay, the force has confirmed. They admitted causing suffering to the two dogs after a neighbour filmed the abuse at a house in Prestatyn. A policewoman has been charged with helping her son who is accused of murdering teenage model Amy Leigh Barnes, Greater Manchester Police has said. Melda Wilks, 49, has been suspended from West Midlands Police after she was charged with assisting an offender. She is due to appear at Bolton Magistrates' Court later today. Her son, 21-year-old Ricardo Morrison, was arrested by police and charged with his former girlfriend's murder in November. He remains in custody. The personal life of former Greater Manchester Police chief Michael Todd damaged the reputation of British policing, a report has concluded. Extra-marital affairs he conducted did not impact on his ability to do the job, the inquiry by West Midlands chief Sir Paul Scott-Lee found. But there was "significant potential for compromise" to his position as chief constable, the report said. Mr Todd, 50, was found dead near the summit of Snowdon last year.
