A 'drunk and hungry' teenager who took a bite from a stranger's beefburger has been jailed for eight months, while his friend - who punched the man - was released with a caution. William Smithers, 19, snatched the student's takeaway snack in the street after a drunken night out. One of Smithers' friends then battered the victim to the ground. The friend was given a police caution - while Smithers was charged with robbery. Judge Sylvia De Bertodano said: 'It is extraordinary and inexplicable that the man who attacked the victim is not in the dock today.' Meena Evans, prosecuting, said: 'The defendant tried to grab the burger and pull it out of his hand but he would…

What have these websites in comon? http://www.ukpoliceonline.co.uk/dating.ph http://www.orange.pl/portal/map/map/signin...equestid=332691 (Orange mobiles - international websites) The photo! The dating website says he's a fireman and she a nurse. I think it's a lie. One can see it's a stunt. I think copyright is broken, either by the UK police, either by Orange.

I'm not sure what to think about this, but if that was the worst that he'd written it seems to me that they've made a mountain out of a molehill. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12...l#ixzz0UNx3WNTs

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00nf...n_the_Doorstep/ I not realize it was this bad. Talk about walking into a lions den wrapped in tasty sausages. Daft thing to do, this woman could be dead now. Not sure the bbc got this one right.

Man, 63, jailed for 1980 Wycombe rape A 63-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for eight years after raping and threatening to kill a young woman on her way home from a night out in 1980. Geoffrey Stoneham left his 17-year-old victim a “quivering wreck†after he and another man raped her in Micklefield Road. The father-of-three, of Alamein Road, Swanscombe, Kent, pleaded guilty to the offence on what was meant to be the first day of a trial – having denied it when he first appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court last December. Both he and another man, who has not been caught, attacked their victim and raped her. Samples were taken from the girl following the attack – b…

From the Daily Mail: I suppose this case is a salient reminder of the value of interviewing people when giving tickets. If he'd have said he was dictating a joke then he should have been done for not being in proper control of a vehicle, and if he had not have said this, this later story could easily have been determined to have been made up by the court.

they say on b.b.c radio today they are looking at the cost if the p.c.s.o in lincoln due to the high crime rate and yobs who seem to rule the streets and the damage to the city then the council should think about putting the money for real police officers and use special constables as well with real powers of arrest to clean up the town not pcso with no powers.

A FUGITIVE who went on the run for 11 years had been living across the road from a police station. David Mulligan was 16 when he absconded from court when due to be sentenced for a street attack. After more than a decade hiding from the authorities, latterly in a house opposite Gateshead Police Station, Mulligan’s conscience got the better of him and he handed himself in. When Mulligan, now 27, finally appeared at Newcastle Crown Court, he was told he would never even have been sent to jail if he had faced the music all those years ago. Judge Beatrice Bolton said: “He had been living opposite Gateshead Police Station for some time and it played on his mind so he h…
