Around 400 police officers and staff executed 38 warrants simultaneously at addresses in Basingstoke and London as part of Operation Sheffield. Officers have arrested 34 people on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and money laundering and they are currently being questioned at stations across the county. The warrants are the culmination of a year long operation aimed at taking out a criminal network of drug dealing in the Basingstoke area. A Suffolk special police sergeant denied dangerous driving when he appeared in court today. Mykal Trim, who is based and lives in Lowestoft, appeared at Norwich Crown Court in relation to a road traffic incident involving a marked police car and another car in the early hours of Saturday, February 14, in Tom Crisp Way, Lowestoft. Two policemen are still in hospital with serious injuries after a collision between a Mitsubishi Evolution and a police car early on Saturday morning. A 28-year-old man from Great Yarmouth has been released on bail after he was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and failing to stop for police. The Mitsubishi failed to stop for police in Belvedere Road, Lowestoft. Four men were injured after it was followed and collided with a marked police car in Tom Crisp Way. Two passengers from the Mitsubishi have been released from James Paget Hospital in Gorleston in Norfolk and are not facing charges.
