Police were alerted to the raid at the One Stop on Wood End Road in Wednesfield at around 9:40pm when masked offenders threatened staff with chisels and demanded access to the back office. James went missing from a secure unit earlier last week and is described as a vulnerable individual. Officers previously released CCTV footage that showed the 43-year-old entering a bank in Lichfield in Staffordshire on the afternoon of Monday 21 March. Latest news Witness appeal after man shot in the leg in Handsworth Wood 29/03/2016 Detectives have launched an investigation after a man was injured in the street when a shot was fired from a vehicle on Weeford Drive, Handsworth Wood just after 5am yesterday morning (Monday 28 March). Phillip Evans died of a single blow to the head in the early hours of 11 October last year - paramedics were called but nothing could be done to save him. Mohamoud Said (pictured below), aged 21, from Chadsmoor Terrace, Nechells was sentenced on 23 March to 16 months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to defraud at Birmingham Crown Court on 14 February.
