Latest news Man charged with internet café murder 19/04/2016 A man is to stand before Sandwell magistrates today (Tuesday 18 April) accused of the murder of a man in Smethwick. Carpenter, Douane Brown, aged 39 from Bickington Road, Birmingham, was arrested on Sunday evening by detectives investigating a murder at an internet café in Smethwick. He is also charged with possession of a knife in public. Although not yet formally identified the victim has been named as Horace Williams, aged 36 and from West Bromwich. Latest news Police appeal after man stabbed in Erdington assault 19/04/2016 Detectives are appealing for information after a man was attacked on a street in Erdington on 8 April at around 7pm. The 46-year-old was outside a local newsagent when he was lunged at and stabbed in the head repeatedly with a glass bottle. Following the attack the suspect fled the scene on Bromford Lane in a white BMW Z4 sports car. Police were called just after 7.10pm and the man was immediately rushed to hospital by paramedics. Anthony Davis, aged 49, from the Walmley area of Sutton Coldfield was last seen at just before 9am on Thursday 14 April. He is described as white, 6ft tall, medium build, short grey hair, blue eyes and clean shaven. Leeroy Bailey was arrested in February this year after ambulance colleagues were called to his address after concerns for the safety and welfare of a child entrusted to his care at the time. The 35-year-old was released on police bail while an investigation was carried out. Latest news Factory worker admits stabbing partner to death in Tipton 18/04/2016 A factory worker who went on a drinking session and then stabbed his partner to death at their home in Tipton has pleaded guilty to murder. Cezary Sobiewski stabbed Barbara Baraniecka in the neck a number of times in the front bedroom of their house on Standbridge Way on 12 November last year. Latest news Wolverhampton man in court charged with burglaries 18/04/2016 A man is due in court today charged with two counts of burglary in Wolverhampton, including one during which an elderly couple were assaulted. William Dimmock, aged 24, of no fixed address, will appear before magistrates in the city this morning (18 April). He is accused of breaking into a home on Crowther Street, last Monday (11 April) and attacking a man, aged 72, and a woman, aged 76, who tried to detain him.
