Hi. Couple of questions for any serving specials out there. Firstly what is Lincs Police policy on the Hep B Jab. Do they cover the cost for you to have it as in total it nears £100? Secondly. When it comes to attending training, do the force cover travel expenses i.e. petrol. Going to cost me a small fortune ... Cheers

Hello all, I start my training in sept for Lincolnshire. Is there anything I can do before I start to help me along, any books to read up on etc. I'll go have a chat with one of the local police team if I see a reg to get any any info tips. I'm keeping my fitness up, do military fitness training twice a week and also run and cycle in the evenings. Think Im fitter now than I was in the forces. Anyone else start training in sept, I'm really looking forward to starting and getting out and doing the job. It's taken me 3 years to get to this stage since leaving the forces. Any info or tips would be much appreciated, Cheers

Hi All, I will be moving to Lincs soon and will be applying to join the specials. I have a couple of questions and would be grateful for any feedback. Are Lincs recruiting at present and what are the timescales from application to being accepted? Would the fact that I am only just moving to the County be a negative? Many thanks Yale69

just wondered if anyone who started on the intake in october could tell us how they are finding it and what to expect, it would be good to have an insight into what awaits us when they finally have another intake

Evening, As a new member I thought I'd say hello! I'm thinking of joining Lincs Police as a Special Constable, hopefully in Stamford. I've had a look on the site and got an idea of the application process but have still got a few questions... Do you have to live in Lincolnshire to join? I ask as I live just over the border! Can you choose where you get posted- I'm interested in the Stamford area. What's involved with the training, and a typical duty? Cheers P

New Recruits Needed For Specials in South of the County Lincolnshire Police is calling on community-spirited members of the public to become special constables - and help to create a safer environment for their loved ones to live in. A series of recruitment open days will be held across the south of the county in the next couple of weeks, with the aim of telling potential volunteers what the job entails and giving them the chance to talk to serving specials about their personal experiences. At present there are 140 specials across the force, with 31 in South Division, 29 in East Division and 81 in West Division. In order to meet Home Office guidelines, Lincolnshire Polic…

Hi, Does anyone have any idea when Lincolnshire might be taking transferee's from other forces, I know with the current economic climate that there have been cutbacks, but I just wondered if anyone had an inkling into when there might be a movement on this.

I know there are many posts about the recent January Recruitment Campaign, but thought it would be a good idea to bring everything under one roof! If you applied in Jan, and are waiting results or have results...say hello! I personally, am still waiting! Though I did return my form on the 29th of January!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-11647242 A man who escaped from a locked police car while in handcuffs has been given a suspended prison sentence. Michael Coady, 22, of no fixed abode, had been arrested after a fight outside a Louth nightclub in January. While officers were attending another incident, Coady managed to lower a window, release a child lock and flee, but later handed himself in. At Lincoln Crown Court he admitted threatening behaviour and escaping from custody. He was given a six-month jail term, suspended for 12 months.
