Posters on previous topics have suggested the average wait from application to start date is approximately 18 months. I was just curious as to how long people who are in the job now had to wait in their own instances.

Anyone know or has heard hints about the next D&C start dates? Is May possible? Any rumours, let me know, I might be redundant in a week or two.

Guys and Girls, I am in the process of transferring down to D&C and just wanted to get a heads up from those of you already working in the force as to the day to day processes etc. I.e A) when you report a crime do you investigate of simply create the report and move on? B) Do you deal with your own prisoners / case files or are there process units to deal with beat crime prisoners etc? C) On a patrol team is there much opportunity for overtime D) On a patrol team do you have to staff positions such as front office / gaoler etc? Sorry for the list but I just wanted to get a feel for the lifestyle!! Many thanks Ben

Hi all, Due to move down from Liverpool to Exeter to start training and need somewhere to live! I'm due to come down at the weekend to look at some places but was wondering if anyone can give any pointers of where to live and where not to live. Annoyingly replies from estate agents are 'a desirable' or 'less desirable' place to live and just want some further info! Places I've looked at are Exeter, Crediton and Okehampton Any help would be much appreciated Thanks

The skeleton of the flagship building is now in place on the outskirts of town and the project is on target for completion by the end of the year. It is the largest construction project to be undertaken by Devon and Cornwall Constabulary in more than 20 years and is creating up to 50 jobs on site per day to support the local econom…

Hey What do you all make of this, bringing 200 extra officers to the frontline throughout D&C (the pdf shows the breakdown by location). Will this have an affect on the current recruitment campaigns? Will they need as many new recruits now? http://www.devon-cornwall.police.uk/v3/new...ase.cfm?id=1793
