Return to News 9 July 2018 A 60-year-old Dutch national who smuggled cocaine worth £1.5million into Harwich has been jailed for 10 years following an investigation by the National Crime Agency. On 22 January 2018 Border Force officers stopped the lorry of Peter Willemsen, 60, at Harwich International Port. Willemsen said he was travelling to Lutterworth, Leicestershire, to deliver computer parts. When he was stopped, Willemsen was seen to turn round and rummage behind him. Return to News 6 July 2018 A man who tried to smuggle a gun and ammunition into the UK hidden in the battery compartment of his van has been jailed for five years after an investigation by the National Crime Agency. Officers stopped a van being driven by Polish national Rafal Habiak, 34, on the evening of 3 June 2018 at Dover Eastern Docks in Kent. He told officers he was driving to his home address in Grimsby. Return to News 6 July 2018 A barber from Birmingham has been convicted, along with five others, of importing at least £1 million worth of cocaine into the UK from Jamaica disguised as coconut milk powder, coffee and Lasoy milk. Nigel Roberts, 41, of Sutton Coldfield, was arrested in May 2017 after National Crime Agency (NCA) investigators identified him as the ringleader behind four previous importations of cocaine into UK airports.
