Working for NCA - London

Hi,

Does anyone here work for NCA and willing to DM me about their experiences for working them?

Wondering what it is like to work for NCA and what sort of activities you are involved in.

Where are the London offices?

Their experiences in the role and progression

Any specific information about working as an Intel Officer?

Many thanks!

They have offices in Westminster and Vauxhall, so I understand.

Pay less pension contributions

It's officers, unless they are seconded from other agencies such as the police, are civil servants and pay into the civil service scheme, which is probably the best pension scheme given the level of contributions you have to contribute. Officers are of course paid on civil service bands similar to customs and immigration officers.

I was once considering it but roles are often more specialised and as I remember I needed PIP 2 which I didn't have. Some require having knowledge of not just police powers but also those of immigration and customs officers as one of the roles I looked at you seemed to hold three separate warrants. It's directly employed officers are not police  but similar to customs/immigration officers they hold many constable powers but are not attested as such. They do have plenty of secondment opportunities and it may be worth looking at this option.

Generally speaking, NCA intelligence officers are IPP trained and don't normally hold police powers - unlike their investigation officers who also require PIP2.

They did a big recruitment campaign last year so you may have to wait until one comes round again, or try and get a secondment to a ROCU.

Purely out of interest, does anyone know what their operational roles actually entail?

Also, does anybody know what level their firearms officers are trained to? As in, AFO, ARV, SFO, CTSFO?

AFOs and other armed roles I believe are all on secondments, no direct entry for the role.

Just AFO

Actually only a few are seconded, most are either directly recruited from the police as existing AFOs or are trained up from within.

Here's an old job advert I found on Google

I did once hear of an AFO who was a former Customers Officer whom was originally merged into SOCA.

Yeah, me too. Must be one of those trained up from within.

What role would be more similar to a police officer then? I would assume an Investigation Officer?

Also would those two roles be civilian roles or be a Civl Servant role?

It seems odd that they'd only be AFO, considering AFOs don't do premises entries etc.

Or do they use local SFO/ARV resources for that, and have AFOs for personal protection?
