They smashed their way in through the front window of her terraced home at 6.30am. The officers shouted "Police" as they made their way into the woman's home. It is believed the woman was awake at the time and was in her kitchen. Police quickly realised their error and senior officers were sent to speak to the woman. advertisement A police spokesman said: "As par…

Crimes committed by Eastern European immigrants have increased by up to 800 per cent in some parts of the country, new figures show. Migrant crime by police force Three Line Whip: Immigration and crime: the real results The findings cast doubts on a report from the Association of Chief Police Officers which said that the surge in immigrants had not fuelled a rise in crime. The study found that migrant crime had put extra pressure on forces, diverting cash away from other crime fighting duties but had not lead to an increase in crime. But a survey of eight police forces by The Daily Telegraph using the Freedom of Information Act found and average increase of 300 per c…

LANGUAGE watchdogs are urging police to stop talking “gobbledygookâ€. The Plain English Campaign says too many top cops now use management speak – calling the public “customers†who are their “focusâ€. Forces also have “mission statements†and “ludicrous job titlesâ€, according to the PEC. It said: “It’s very simple. People want coppers to come when called and catch criminals.†Now what would i like to be called by the Police? A customer will do. Thou prostitues would rather be called Pleasure technicians.

Every single Metropolitan police officer will be 'microchipped' so top brass can monitor their movements on a Big Brother style tracking scheme, it can be revealed today. According to respected industry magazine Police Review, the plan - which affects all 31,000 serving officers in the Met, including Sir Ian Blair - is set to replace the unreliable Airwave radio system currently used to help monitor officer's movements. The new electronic tracking device - called the Automated Personal Location System (APLS) - means that officers will never be out of range of supervising officers. But many serving officers fear being turned into "Robocops" - controlled by bosses who…

Following a report in today's Evening Standard we wish to make it clear that MPS Commissioner Sir Ian Blair has neither recommended nor approved a plan to hand over any part of London's Olympic security to other countries. Approval for foreign police officers to carry firearms in the UK is a ministerial one through the Home Office and at this time no decision has been reached on these matters. As part of the proper planning process to assess the armed capability requirement in 2012 the Commissioner raised the issue last June with the Metropolitan Police Authority and made it clear that the over-riding principle was that the Met 'did not want armed foreign police'. H…

EU rule means millions of UK number plates illegal, DoT ######-up... oooops I am speechless ... Yellow plates, red faces UK rear vehicle registration plates illegal under European Standards Embarassed Department of Transport officials have admitted that most of the yellow rear number plates in circulation on UK roads do not meet European retro-reflectivity standards introduced Europe-wide in 1999. The Department mandated significant changes to the style of vehicle registration plates in September 2001 but says it "appears to have overlooked" this requirement. The European standard requires that in member states all vehicle number plates should be white on both th…

BRITAIN faces chaos as public sector workers stage the biggest mass strike in decades. More than 100,000 civil servants in ten government departments will walk out in a pay dispute on April 24 – the same day teachers hold their first strike in 20 years. Union barons yesterday named the day as their first major challenge to Gordon Brown’s public sector wage freeze. Advertisement They accuse the PM of inflicting a pay CUT by pegging public sector rises below inflation. PCS union leader Mark Serwotka said: “Striking is a last resort and could have been avoided if the Government hadn’t continued with its refusal to negotiate meaningfully.†Yesterday 700 co…
