The politicians seem a bit lost when it comes to tackling knife crime. The BBC ran a short report about a policy proposal: The general reaction was that teenagers are so dysfunctional it wouldn't work. Is that what British teenagers have come to, knifing a pensioner to look cool? If teenagers ARE that dysfunctional, who takes responsibility? If you disagree, would you sign the petition? http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/tackli...nife-crime.html Thanks.

Eighteen-month- old Angel Nguyen had been strapped into a child seat until moments before the accident at 80mph on the M4. Should someone be able to argue they were "forced to kill a violent partner?" Are you of the opinion that this is giving people a "licence to kill" Opinions welcome. Thanks From BBC news website 29th July 2008 Changes in murder laws proposed The case of Kiranjit Ahluwalia set a legal precedent in 1992 Proposed reforms of the law on homicide in much of the UK could change…

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7534337.stm Defence solicitors in England and Wales have warned serious offenders are getting off lightly because police are chasing performance targets. They said on-the-spot fines and cautions are overused to boost convictions and avoid court cases. The latest Home Office figures for fixed penalties show a 37% increase in 2006, with a 17% rise in cautions. The Ministry of Justice said "it is not always necessary" for crimes to be dealt with in court. Fixed penalties, normally fines of £80 which do not show up on criminal records, are intended to be used for minor offences, such as speeding, shoplifting and minor assaults. We need to …
