Police are spending an estimated £2m to protect this weekend's Liberal Democrat conference, with measures including a 2.5m high steel and concrete fence to deter up to 10,000 protesters. http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2011/mar/10/liberal-democrat-conference-protest-sheffield?INTCMP=SRCH A good argument for banning all protests, unless the protesters themselves, much like Football clubs are willing to cough up the money for Policing. Two million pounds, that money should be going to either recruiting Police or for those nasty Police who put in overtime. I say, BAN ALL PROTESTS!! Except the Police one of course.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/8370947/Pc-Nipples-and-her-colleagues-taught-boys-a-lesson-on-name-calling.html Four police officers held a 90 minute 'restorative justice conference' with five schoolboys after they called a woman constable 'PC Nipples.' Some may argue this was a waste of Police time, i think differently. If i were called Coach driver Ball-sack, i would want a word with those who used this derogatory remark, i see no reason the Police should be any different.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1353195/Suffolk-police-chiefs-fly-gay-pride-flag-Union-Jack-forbidden.html I had no idea Police on the mainland didn't fly the union flag. We can't as some quarters see it as offensive but I really can't see why you can't fly it in GB. Heck when I was in Florida the police there had the stars and stripes on their uniforms, cars, outside their buildings and inside their buildings.....in contrast why are we reluctant to fly the union flag? And just on the story...if suffolk police fly the flag of one group they should be flying them all....not that I agree with flying the rainbow flag from a police station....nothing against the fla…

http://web.orange.co.uk/article/news/police_overtime_bill_reaches_4bn_report Police officers claimed £3.8bn in overtime payments over the past decade, according to new figures. Research by the Policy Exchange think-tank claims spending in some forces is "out of control", although it says others are working hard to reduce pay-outs. Using a calculator and hoping i put in the correct amount of 0`s. We have 3.8 billion, divided by 150 thousand Officers, divided by 10 years, divided by 52 weeks in a year, we have £44,00 a week overtime. Why does this story make news headlines?
