A source has apparently revealed this... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1307616/Raoul-Moat-shot-BEFORE-police-fired-Taser-guns.html suggesting that Moat shot himself before any cop fired their Taser. NOT being confirmed by the IPCC, but interesting nevertheless.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-12745313 Lessons in how to get onto a bike and pedal are being given to officers from Grampian Police. A one-day training course is accompanied by a 17-page booklet. The document states that the safest and recommended method of starting off is to straddle the bicycle before pedalling. A Grampian Police spokesman said the training was essential for force cyclists, particularly those involved in chases. The manual explains: "Unless a person is a regular cyclist before commencing bike patrol duties, a conditioning process is inevitable. This process, which includes the re-training of muscles and the toughe…

Wasn't breaching the cordon good enough grounds for arrest An investigation has begun into whether three Metropolitan Police officers colluded to falsely arrest a man at a tuition fees protest in central London. A 20-year-old breached a cordon on 9 December and was chased and caught by an officer, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said. But a subsequent conversation between the arresting officer and colleagues has sparked an inquiry, the IPCC added. It will also consider when and how the man suffered a chipped tooth. The matter was referred to the IPCC by the Metropolitan Police, a Scotland Yard spokesman said, and the force awaited the inquiry's …

Good, I hope he spends long enough there to rot! One of two brothers convicted over the murder of schoolboy Damilola Taylor in south London has been returned to jail. Damilola, 10, was returning home when he was stabbed in the thigh with a broken beer bottle in Peckham in 2000. Rickie and Danny Preddie were jailed for eight years in 2006 for manslaughter. Rickie was released last year after serving two thirds of his sentence but was returned to jail after breaching his licence conditions. The brothers were sentenced at the Old Bailey in October 2006. A Ministry of Justice spokesman said he could not comment on the news. "All offenders subject to probation supervisi…

Police officers refused to attend fatal stabbing Louise Webster died days after her 40th birthday Two police officers who refused to attend an incident where a woman was stabbed to death have been disciplined. The Northamptonshire officers said they were too busy to attend a house in Roade, near Northampton where Louise Webster, 40, was later found dead. Her partner Martin Ashby was jailed for life last week for her murder. An Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) inquiry found that although the two were close by, another officer had to disarm the suspect. The officers have received final written warnings. The IPCC concluded the officers would no…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-12732432 this refers to the IPCC investigating 3 officers who are currently being investigated as colluding over evidence. What is interesting is that one of the officers has been said to be wearing a 'sound device'?? I have known of camera devices recording but never just sound? Im also confused to why the officer would have known about this device he was carring but continued in any such discussion?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-12629508 The PSNI have said there is no doubt that a gun attack in Londonderry was an attempt to kill a police officer. Several shots were fired as a patrol investigated an abandoned car in the Glen Road area on Wednesday. District Commander Stephen Martin said the attackers fired while members of the community were talking to police. "You have police officers there trying to assist the community, trying to recover stolen property and someone tries to kill them," he said. "Not only did those behind the attack show absolute contempt for the police officers, but the officers were talking to members of the public when these sh…
