During the MPA meeting, acting Met commissioner Tim Godwin will face questions from members on topics including kettling, phone hacking and underco…

Tens of thousands of police officers could take to the streets in the run-up to the royal wedding in a row over pay, rank and file leaders warned yesterday. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/8369874/Police-pay-protesters-may-take-to-streets.html Not wishing to persuade a Officer either way, but about bloody time. Officers have been far to patient with the rescent governments and their clawing away at Police pay/powers. So, will you be marching IF indeed there is a march? I will join in, just to help the numbers.

Home Office launches campaign to tackle the threat of lone terrorist Published Date: 21 March 2011 Scotsman Newspaper By Gareth Rose A CAMPAIGN has been launched to tackle the growing threat of "lone terrorists" - individuals with no direct links to groups such as al-Qaeda who are radicalised through information they find online. The Home Office has launched a website where members of the public can report material on the internet which could be used to incite terrorism. British police will then try to take the information down to prevent the radicalisation of people in the UK. Two men have been shot dead near a caravan site in Suffolk. Armed police were sent to investigate reports of gunfire at Willow Park in Beck Row, near Mildenhall at about 2215 GMT on Tuesday. Once there, officers discovered one of the victims dead inside a burning car. The other was found dead on the ground nearby. Homes were evacuated over fears the blaze, which spread to a caravan and trailer, could ignite gas canisters. Police were called and three fire crews after a woman reported hearing gunfire. The fire also involved a caravan and a trailer. Source: BBC News

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-coventry-warwickshire-12773121 Scores of Warwickshire Police officers will be taken out of front-line policing roles and moved to support posts, the police authority has said. The force has to save £22.9m by March 2015 and has invited civilian staff with two years continuous service to apply for voluntary redundancy. It plans to fill the vacated posts with up to 150 serving police officers. "We don't like it, they [Warwickshire Police Federation] don't like it, I don't think the public will like it, but at the end of the day we have no option," Ian Francis, the chairman of Warwickshire Police Authority, said. Mr Francis said fro…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12775134 The top civil judge in England and Wales has suggested televising hearings to increase confidence in justice. Master of the Rolls Lord Neuberger said broadcasting some cases could boost public engagement in the court process. He said judges should have a veto over what could be shown and did not suggest allowing cameras in criminal trials. Only the proceedings and judgements of the UK Supreme Court can currently be televised, although there have been a number of other experiments. In a speech to the Judicial Studies Board, Lord Neuberger revisited proposals for televising courts which were last raised in 2004. In that year,…
