Just thought id post this, which I came across in work : Full story here Seems like quite a good read towards the end, whereby the officer involved starts to question his stance on dealing with victims etc. Anybody had any similar stories where they felt they didn't want to report what happened to them?

An investigation is under way after a web page - set up to protect children online - was found to be insecure. A member of the public found a form on the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre's website - to report alleged offenders - was unencrypted. Security experts have described the breach of data as a serious error which could have put children at risk. The agency told the BBC the risk was hypothetical and it has now been fixed so any crime can be reported safely. There will now be a full investigation by the Information Commissioner's Office. The unencrypted pages meant personal details entered on the site could have been visible to anyone with a sinis…

spree. The 17-year-old left victims ‘emotional and hysterical’, after he carried out nearly 100 burglaries across Essex and stole several sports cars in a two-year spree worth £445,000. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1374408/17-year-old-100-burglaries-jailed-445-000-crime-spree.html#ixzz1Iwkrf3LX Question must be, why imprison him now? If the courts had allowed him to continue a while longer, then maybe the sentence would have been something worth while. The boy probably needed a holiday, he has one, He will continue sometime in the near future i expect.

Our Police are by far the best out there, by quite a distance, so fantastic it seems obvious to me, the Police themselves do not realize quite how good they are!! The reason for the above compliment, it has now become apparent our Police which includes TVP have conspired to delve into problems from a unique angle, only proving as to how wonderful they are. I give you this Youtube clip. I bet you were not expecting this.

Officials with the Police Federation have said that they may step up an advertising campaign warning about the consequences of government funding reductions. http://www.policeoracle.com/news/Fed-May-Step-Up-Anti-Cuts-Ad-Campaign_32537.html "By using these sinister images the Police Federation is clearly no longer prepared to engage in rational debate. I wonder how many of their members who will have faced an armed criminal, find this imagery appropriate." Tried all other means to get through to those with the purse strings, must try something else. I wonder if this could be taken to court, let a judge sort this out.

It is usually the stuff of films: a gang desperate to retrieve sackfuls of booty from the depths of the police hold. But thieves in Scotland had their eyes set on something different – radios and uniform. Burglars targeted a police station in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, in the early hours of Tuesday morning and made off with the items. A spokeswoman for Strathclyde police said: "Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the break-in and to trace the person or people responsible." She added that the stolen radios had been disabled: "At no time has the safety of the public or any officers been jeopardised as a result of the break-in…
