A West Kensington woman has been charged with racially abusing one of the ten police officers needed to arrest her on suspicion of shoplifting. Jahda Tragni, 21, from Gliddon Road, was approached by community support officers in Lyric Square, Hammersmith, who suspected her of theft. But they called back-up and eventually needed 10 officers to arrest Ms Tragni, who wasn't subsequently charged with any shoplifting offence. A van and a car were dispatched she was eventually arrested outside the Broadway Shopping Centre, opposite the Chronicle's offices. Ms Tragni was bailed to appear at West London Magistrates' Court on April 26. Link Source

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13022347 A 2005 study by the German Federal Interior Ministry (Bundesministerium des Innern) concluded that Autobahn sections with unrestricted speed have the same crash record as sections with speed limits. The biggest speed experiment in history reveals that motorways with no speed limit are just as safe as those with speed restrictions. But don't expect evidence-based reality to trump political dogma. Speed limits on motorways should be scrapped.

Bilingual police Officers are being used to help catch the growing number of overseas gangs who target Westfield shopping centre. Police came up with the idea after a spate of robberies in Shepherd's Bush involving an Algerian gang. After CCTV cameras found the criminals were meeting at Café Nero by the Tube station, two undercover French-speaking officers of Arab appearance went to the café and listened to the gang's plans.
