This guy is a former cop in the US and has a YouTube channel dedicated to police-related videos. Every now and then he does a RECAP video based mostly on funny/ironic situations and in this one here, he goes over a few funny stories, including the one in the title of the thread. I've been on a bit of a nostalgia trip recently and have ended up watching loads of old Pathe news reels including this one.

This is interesting but it's so fake that it's almost funny. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed watching that. I didn't realise that people back then still called police "pigs". It was interesting that "sus law" was mentioned, and that we could see that "WPCs" dealt with women and children (like what I've read online). It was weird that the suspected robber was interviewed in the CID office though.
