Has anyone heard anything about this? I know we have been told that our Inspector is looking into it. Do other divisions already have bikes for specials? I'd find it really useful, as the are I patrol is too big to walk around, but we could just about manage on bikes.

Hello to all Cheshire Police potential recruits. I am a serving SC with Cheshire in the Northern BCU. I have been for the over the past 1 and a half years. Ive noticed this part of Cheshire is pretty quiet, so I thought I'd sign up to help anyone who needs a little bit of info. In my personal opinion, Cheshire is one of the best forces going, and again the Northern BCU is too! The variety of work can be great too. The PC's in Northern are some the best and most friendly people I have come across, and are willing to teach you anything you want to know. Now I've finally passed!!!!!! Anyone on the same intake? I'm guessing thast some people may not know yet, as mine's an old application where I had to go through more medical, so I'm not running on the same timeline as the rest of your guys in relation to the assessment and medical as such! I'm willing to give a bit of advice for the process, but please be aware I've been in it since Sept 2010, so my mind's not as fresh as it could be! EDM

Hi, Just looking for some advice / views if anyone can help. I have be fitness and medical coming up. I am interested as to what is involved in the medical side. My main concern is 10 years ago i broke my collar bone and had a metal plate put in which is still there today (never arranged to have it taken out). It doesnt effect me in anyway at all but i am concerned as to whether this will have a bearing at all on my application being successful. Any replies would be gratefull! Thanks :-)

Hey, I've been trying to break in some boots (Magnum Stealth 8.0's) over the past few days but seem to be getting blisters after just 2-3hrs of walking, I'm aware the issue boots in Cheshire are Magnum Patrol and when I read up on them I didn't see any information regarding cushioned soles - hence buying the Stealth 8.0's. Not quite a Cheshire only topic but does anyone have any advice on what sort of socks to wear to avoid blisters? I'm glad I've tried these on a 3hr walk opposed to an 8hr shift but boots designed for the police service can't possibly cause such problems for everyone, I've tried using a thick sock on it's own and doubling up a shoe sock with a thick …
