Important information about recruitment The recruitment window for Student Police Officer applications will be open between 8:30am and 4.30pm on Monday 23rd April 2012. Prospective applicants are required to ring telephone number 01606 362211 providing your name, full address email and contact telephone number. Please note that this number will only be answered between 8:30am and 4:30pm on Monday 23rd April. Sooo, I'm finally through the recruitment process and I'm due to start training on the 23rd March. Good times! I was just wondering if anybody knows what kind of expenses you can claim back with regards to travel? I know they pay back mileage, but I'm not a driver. If you have a receipt/ticket, can you get the money back from taxi fares and train fares? I can't seem to find any information about taxi fares especially. I could ring up, but I feel like I've pestered HR a bit too much lately lol. Cheers in advance

Hey guys, I wonder if any of you fine people could help me. I want to ask if it is possible to transfer as an SC from another force to Chesire? And if you know of anyone that has and what the process is like? I've emailed Chesire (sort of, I can't find an email address for recruitment so I hope I've got through to someone!) Many thanks, - Mike PS. If anyone has an email address for recruitment could you please let me know it!

Hello one & all, I'm through to the final interview & am looking for a little advice on what to expect. I know it is going to be competency based, but am looking for specifics, i.e. is it the same as the interview at the Assessment Centre or different & in what way? Good day Spesh85

Any Cheshire SC's can advise how the regular shift pattern operates?

Noticed from a few posts Cheshire are rather quite! Just a quick post to see where everyone is based and the differences in duties and jobs you come across. Look forward to hearing from you all! x

Hey, Is anyone else going through selection for the proposed intake this winter? Would be good to chat to some fellow potential Cheshire Specials. Just got the feedback from Assessment Centre and have an interview next week - anyone else been for this extra interview yet?

Apologies if this post is already on here. Just so people are aware Cheshire are currently taking on Specials again. Anyone interested must attend a seminar at either Padgate Campus or Winsford HQ, you can book onto these seminars by contacting HR. Im not 100% sure about the dates for Winsford, I will be helping out at the Padgate campus, this seminar is on 4th October.

Hi, can any serving Officer tell me what shift pattern response Officers in Cheshire currently work? Also would a transferee go straight on to response or would they need to start in Community or some other role? Thanks.

Cheshire Police Authority have recently announced their intentions to scrap the transport service(Reliance/GSL) throughout Cheshire. Their proposed solution is for arresting officers to transport thier own detainees to the nearest Custody Suite, Eastern, Western & Northern. I cant help but wonder what the outcome will be, especially for the officers based in Macclesfield and surrounding areas, not to mention the staffing levels on a weekend. What are your thoughts on this subject.
