This does bring the question of whether or not this is really in the public interest, and what new evidence do they actually have. There is a drive to put a 10 year limit on prosecutions from conflict zones. I would put money on the fact this is nothing more placating certain people.

Huw Meurig Jones, aged 69, from Old Colwyn, was convicted of ten offences, including #######, indecent assault and gross indecency, following a National Crime Agency investigation. The offences took place between 1975 and 1978, when Jones was the Deputy Superintendent at Little Acton Assessment Centre, Wrexham, and when he was a social worker in the Colwyn Bay area.
