Hi I have joined the Forum as I am looking at ways of improvement development for SCs and expanding what roles they could perform ie specialisms / functions. I am keen to use this forum to make the best use of the SCs we have,

I'm not a serving officer, but just passed my fitness test (Barely) for Lancashire Specials. I've browsed the public areas of the forum a fair bit, and found the website overall a good source of information. Just got to pass the Medical now as I was too chubby to pass when I attended, but as they're not taking on until January now I'm giving myself an extra few weeks.

Evening, I'm led to believe that in order to view the full forum, I have to prove I'm not a robot. So hello, I'm Ben. A Yorkshireman. Ex-forces and with a view to joining my local force in the not too distant future. Not here to ask questions because, well, google. Been a civvie for 5 years, got a dog, and in my spare time I like shouting abuse at clouds and reading Mills and Boon books out loud whilst riding the bus. My dislikes include: People who eat crisps at the cinema. Guinness. Lists. Irony. Russel Brand. People who order 'Raspberry-mocha-frappucino' type drinks in coffee shops. Will that do?

Hi I'm Rich, 40 something father of Two from Kent, considering (finally) acting upon a lifetime goal & that is of becoming a Police Officer. I am stuck in a dead end job that I have grown to loathe over the years & while the Grass definitely isn't always Greener, life's too short to stick at something you have grown to hate. I'll be applying over the weekend & cramming up on anything remotely helpful in the meantime. Thank you

Hey, I'm a 'mature' candidate and have been going through PC recruitment for Avon and Somerset since Sept '15 and I hope I'm nearly there. Just currently waiting on vetting, so hope to hear soon, it's a very anxious time and I hope all goes well :) Then it's onto the fitness! Im currently keeping everything crossed!
