Hey everyone! It's been long enough since I was last here that I figured a new introduction post was warranted. Since I was last here, I've moved to Manchester and applied to join the GMP. At this time, I've been issued a conditional offer of employment, and am just waiting on the completion of the pre-employment checks (job reference and vetting, specifically). Is anyone else here joining, serving, or has previously worked for, the GMP? I wouldn't mind networking, given the opportunity, though I'd welcome the chance to speak with others outside of the GMP as well!

I realised that I didn't create an introduction thread so here we are! After my last thread enquiring about vetting in regards to family finances where I received some really helpful insight, I've finally taken the leap to apply via the degree apprenticeship scheme! I applied for this position a couple of years ago where I got invited to the assessment centre however I received a promotion at work at the exact same time which I chose to accept instead. After being told last month that I'm at the top end of the pay scale for my position (sounds great until you realise the top end is still awful) and that I won't be receiving any future pay rises, I figured there's no bette…

Most people on my shift are having a laugh and chilled, while I'm stuck face in the computer thinking, jesus this is all computer work, what is going on, I cant relax! I have worked so hard and am really trying my hardest, to the point where I bearly switch off, even at home on my rest days, and don't want to give it all up! I have a great tutor and shift, but…

Hello I am new to this forum, having found it on Google looking foor advice on starting my 10 week tutorship as a probationer on lpt. I have completed my first 3 shifts, now on rest days and all I can say is I felt so overwhelmed on my first shift. The amount of paperwork given to me by my tutor then straight out on a blue run to a domestic, I didn't know what was going on! Biggest thing though is everything is done on mobile devices now, even pnb, and I didn't get a input at college how to use them. So at the scene of the job I had no way of taking notes or how to even format how to do it on mobile first app. I have recently managed to get a paper…
