Some of the supposedly 'indestructible' new five pound notes have already become so battered in six months that they sparked fears of forgeries. Full Story - Mirror Really dont understand people who film themselves on YouTube trying to destroy the £5 note, use enough extreme force you are likely to destroy anything, common sense. However trying to stop actual forgeries will be a challenge, most small corner shops neither have the equipment or are not bothered about checking for forgeries.

Half of house burglaries are not investigated by two of Britain’s biggest police forces under a policy which sees a third of a million crime reports shelved every year, it emerged yesterday. Full Story - Daily Mail Maybe people should be a bit more responsible and invest in CCTV for their homes? The hot weather is upon us no doubt people leaving their windows open will lead to an increase in burglaries. The DM comment section is amusing though, blame the police for not working hard enough, police cuts are just an excuse for lazy policing!

The Metropolitan police has signed a £100 million contract with BT that includes overhauling the 999 system and a fast network to upload footage captured on officers’ body-worn video cameras. The deal with the British telecoms giant, announced today, marks a push towards cloud-based computing for the Met, which BT said would help officers fight crime “more quickly and efficiently”. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/met-in-100m-bt-deal-for-999-overhaul-and-fast-uploads-of-body-camera-footage-a3513486.html

Police sent to investigate an incident at a supermarket were dispatched in the wrong city more than 140 miles away. A door had been damaged at Tesco in Aberdeen's Great Western Road, but officers were instead sent to Glasgow's Great Western Road Tesco store. More than three hours after the initial call on 3 April, officers were sent to the correct store. The closure of the Police Scotland control room and call centre in Aberdeen happened last month. Non emergency calls are now handled at centres in Glasgow, Motherwell and Midlothian. And emergency calls are passed via central service centre responders to the North Area Control Room in Dundee for d…

Dear Officer / Solicitor, If an individual has been charged with an offense 'common assault' and 'battery' (Contrary to Section 39 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988) and was requested to appear in Magistrates court, what punishment can be given? Is there a statute of limitations? Could he be looked after in other countries and could he be the subject to extradition? This is because at the moment he lives in France and is afraid to fly over to the UK. Thanks! Kind regards, Stefan Kozlov
