An investigation has been launched after a man jumped onto the back of a train and hung on for 10 minutes as it moved between stations. The man jumped onto the rear footplate of the train at Worksop station in Nottinghamshire, on Saturday afternoon, clinging onto a handle underneath the cab window as it set off. A 16-year-old boy who was riding a stolen moped with three teenagers on it is fighting for life after it crashed into a police car in south west London. Three teenagers were injured in the crash in Wimbledon in the early hours of Sunday morning, which happened while the moped was being monitored by a police helicopter. Scotland Yard is to investigate more crimes on the telephone and online while closing half the capital’s police stations in a bid to streamline the force and save cash. The force is to launch a new telephone and digital investigation unit which will investigate crimes such as burglary where police do not need to attend a crime scene.
