The investigation, carried out by officers working as part of the Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF), related to the home of an alleged senior member of the paramilitary group South East Antrim UDA (SE UDA) in Carrickfergus. Kazeem Akinwale, 43, was caught after Christie’s auction house reported an attempted diversion fraud. In March 2016 they informed the NCA that hackers had spoofed an employee’s email address, trying to divert the payment for a customer invoice into a new bank account. Christie’s realised what had happened, did not pay the money and reported the hack which initiated the investigation into Akinwale.
