https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/newsscotland/police-reveal-they-had-contact-with-student-nurse-owami-davies-on-day-she-went-missing/ar-AA10TWZO However, it has now been found that Met Police officers spoke to Owami on Wednesday, July 6, the day on which she went missing. Despite this, they had no idea she was an official missing person as the police database had not been updated by the Essex Police Wondered whats happened here if it was a human or technical issue. Did the officers not put a missing person marker on her, or did they flag her but the system had not updated?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-62556123 Police officers in Scotland have agreed to an improved pay offer weeks after rejecting an initial "derisory" offer of £565. "By law, police officers cannot take industrial action. But members of the SPF, which represents rank-and-file officers, withdrew "all goodwill" later that month. It meant that the body's 17,500 members, among other things, refused to start shifts early or take radio equipment home when shifts ended."

https://www.theguardian.com/law/2022/aug/18/police-abuse-stop-and-search-powers-to-target-protesters-suggests-data Not sure the data really supports their conclusion. It could, but it could also just mean there's more people in an area and so a statistical rise in the number of searches would be expected. As long as there are reasonable grounds for each search I don't have a problem with the practice.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/aug/08/police-data-raises-alarm-over-welfare-of-strip-searched-children I don't have an issue with the fact many of them were found innocent of the suspicions against them, officers search on the grounds of suspicion rather than certainty so there will always be some times when that suspicion is wrong. But one thing caught my eye in almost a quarter of cases (23%) an appropriate adult was not present during the search, despite this being a requirement under statutory guidance Is there a reason why officers would carry out a search even though one of the requirements is not met?
