They have shared images of the eight offenders, who are all wanted in connection with crimes across London's 32 boroughs. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/london-crime-met-police-s-8-most-wanted-robbers-who-have-been-linked-to-violent-and-frightening-attacks/ar-AAYzYUR?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=19d686b987d9493788f3bbeb5e910409

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-merseyside-61823941 Police in Cheshire will start using facial recognition technology in a bid to help identify offenders. The technology will be used retrospectively to compare images such as CCTV against pictures held on the police national database. Whatever my concerns with facial recognition, I appreciate they are being open about this. Now why can't the do the same with IMSI catchers? For years, forces have refused to acknowledge their use, arguing that doing so would give criminals an advantage and make the tactic less effective. But I completely disagree. Is facial recognition suddenly going to be ineffec…

Perhaps this article shows the IOPC in their true light. Incidents happened between 2015-2016 where a Police Dog handler's dog injured offenders being detained. They appeared before Crown Court in 2019 and were found not Guilty. The IOPC insisted on charges being made before a Police Discipline Panel which was held in May 2022, that being 3 years after they were found "Not Guilty" by a Jury. It seems that the IOPC should be headed by a people who are more interested in gaining a conviction at any cost. I have to wonder what the officers mentality might have suffered under this strain for such a long time. Perhaps all Police Dog handler's should ask their dogs, ni…

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2022/may/31/uk-investigators-told-to-stop-mass-collection-of-personal-data-in-rape-cases Police and prosecutors have been told to stop the mass collection of personal information from rape victims or face being fined by the UK’s data watchdog. I'm uncomfortable with these so called "digital strip searches" although after the Liam Allan case I understand why they happen. I can see why, for example, a rape victim who is also a drug user might fear handing over their phone in case evidence on it of their drug use is later used against them. How do you reassure victims about stuff like that?
