A man has received £500 in compensation after wrongly being made to register as a sex offender for taking photographs of his girlfriend's five-year-old son. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/coventry_and_warwickshire/10184064.stm Taking pictures of naked kids then is a human right? How about it goes one stage further and sex with kids also becomes a human right? Either i have read this story all wrong (it is a possibility) or the country has finale lost the plot.

Merseyside Police's oldest police dog, Police Dog (PD) Todd, retires this month after more than 12 years service with the force. PD Todd will parade on duty for the last time this month after first training to become a police dog in 1998. Todd, a springer spaniel was donated to the Force by the RSPCA in Halewood after being abandoned and found in a poor state of health at 12 months old. His potential was recognised at an early age and he was quickly placed with Constable Tracey Fry who has been his handler ever since. Working with Constable Fry, PD Todd qualified as a detection dog capable of searching for and indicating upon firearms, cash and controlled drugs. It …

Neil Tindling and Christopher Foile received 22 and eight years respectively for attempting to smuggle almost 225 kilograms of cocaine into the UK from The Netherlands. SOCA's investigation began after Dutch authorities seized a shipment of cocaine in April 2008 welded inside metal blocks and hidden within a container of scrap metal destined for the UK. The following October, SOCA officers intercepted a copycat shipment on the MV Olivia Maersk, berthed at Rotterdam. They removed 11 steel blocks and cut them open to reveal aluminum shells containing 224.46 kilograms of cocaine. Officers replaced the cocaine with sand, welded the blocks shut and returned them to the c…

RANK and file police leaders have warned that cutting the number of officers in Wiltshire risks hindering the fight against crime. Cath Hollands, who chairs Wiltshire Police Federation, demanded a guarantee from Government that the force would be left with enough officers to respond promptly to 999 calls and deal with any increase in offences. She spoke out after Home Secretary Theresa May refused to guarantee that police numbers – currently around 140,000 across England and Wales – would not fall as a result of Government spending cuts. Mrs May said: “In the environment in which we are in I am not going to make any commitment on numbers.†Home Office officials …

CHILD slaves are pouring into Britain because care workers trained to help end the evil trade are being fired and replaced with cleaners. Up to 1,500 social workers have been axed from special crisis centres in Romania over the past 18 months and untrained amateurs, who are easily corrupted, are taking their place. Fagin-style criminals have now seized upon the shambolic situation in the eastern European country and are flooding the UK with children who are forced to beg and steal. Crime by Romanians in Britain has rocketed by 700 per cent, with London bearing the brunt of the blitz. According to the Metropolitan Police, an estimated 168 children aged between seven and …

The pair, aged 17 and 19, turned on the pilot when he told them to stop swinging on the aircraft's tail fin and door. One grabbed him by the throat. As a result, the baby had to be rushed to hospital in a road ambulance - increasing the journey time four-fold. The baby had sustained scalding injuries in an accident. Target: The two teenagers were swinging from the helicopter's tail fin and cockpit door before their altercation with the pilot, who had asked them to move away The incident happened when the Kent Air Ambulance, …

A 38-year-old man has died after his minibus crashed into a barrier on the M74 near Glasgow, after it appeared to force a police car off the road. Police had reports of the bus driving erratically at 0445 BST. Officers tried to stop the vehicle at junction 5 but were apparently forced off the road. The bus continued north for about three miles and hit the central reservation. The driver died at the scene. Two male police officers were taken to Hairmyres Hospital with minor injuries. A section of the M74 between Maryville and Cambuslang was closed in both directions while officers investigated the crash scene. Strathclyde Police said the Lothian and Borders force…

Police in NI have said it was "inappropriate" for an officer to play "ice-cream van" music in an attempt to calm youths attacking a vehicle. Young people were throwing bottles at a Land Rover vehicle in Lisburn last Saturday when the officer used the tannoy to play the tunes. A police spokesperson said an officer had used humour to defuse the situation and the trouble had stopped. However, senior officers are believed to have spoken to the officer involved. Police were called to Glasvey Drive in Twinbrook on 22 May where they passed a group of about 15 youths who began throwing bottles at their vehicle. A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said: …

A 40-year-old man arrested following the discovery of body parts in a river is being questioned on suspicion of murdering three Bradford prostitutes. It follows the grisly discovery of a woman's human remains found in a river in Shipley, West Yorkshire, yesterday. Police have not released any further details of the woman's identity at this stage but say they are investigating possible connections in the cases of three missing prostitutes. Suzanne Blamires, 36, from the Allerton area, went missing last Friday and Shelley Armitage, 31, was last seen on April 26 in the city's red light district. Ms Blamires and Ms Armitage knew each other and lived just a few streets apa…

THUGS ATTACK AIR AMBULANCE PILOT By Euan Stretch 26/05/2010 An air ambulance pilot was attacked after he tried to stop two men hanging on to his helicopter as he responded to a 999 call for a baby with scald burns. The pilot was grabbed by the throat when he told the pair to get off the aircraft. One was seen hanging from the tail fin and the other was swinging on a cockpit door. The charity-funded Kent Air Ambulance had landed in a field in Sevenoaks on Sunday. The men prevented it from taking an injured baby to hospital, said Kent Air Ambulance Trust. Instead the child was transported by road. John Tickner, chief executive of Kent Air Ambulance Trust, said: "I fi…

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/derbyshire/8694837.stm Horrible news, but something tells me the officers may have decided not to make an arrest because there was not a complaint at the time. I've always been told to try and make sure you have a victim who is willing to give a statement before making an arrest, presumably down to crime recording, pressures at custody and other such things. It's a shame that it may have been so heavily drilled into this officers that they make a mistake like this
