Amer Hussain left his elderly victim with serious head injuries after hitting him along Alum Rock Road, Birmingham, on 12 May last year. Hussain had been trying to overtake slow moving traffic on the busy route when he struck Mohammed Gulistan Khan in his Toyota Land cruiser. Latest news Appeal for witnesses in James Brindley murder enquiry 25/06/2017 Detectives investigating the murder of James Brindley in Aldridge on Friday night (23 June) are appealing for the occupants of four vehicles to come forward. Staff at West Midlands Police will pay tribute to PC Joe O’Brien by taking part in the final annual run next Saturday (1 July). PC O’Brien died after being hit by a passing motorist while on duty and diverting traffic during a road race in November 1982. Around 250 supporters of Britain First held the protest in Centenary Square in Birmingham city centre from around 1pm this afternoon. Latest news Aldridge stab victim named 24/06/2017 A man stabbed to death in Aldridge last night (Friday 23 June) has been named as James Brindley. The 26-year-old who lived locally died on the High Street by Aldridge Croft just before midnight after spending the evening out with friends. Ambulance colleagues were unable to save him and a post mortem examination is currently underway. Latest news Murder investigation launched after fatal stabbing 24/06/2017 A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed in Aldridge last night (23 June). Ambulance colleagues were called to the High Street just before midnight but sadly the 26-year-old died at the scene. Officers responded to several calls from members of the public reporting that a blue transit style van had mounted the curb and collided with parked cars on Edward Road in Birmingham.
