Did anyone apply for Warwickshire / West Mercia Police in their recent recruitment drive?

Hi all, I've had a brief search and can't see anything recent regarding eyesight, plus it's more about my specific situation! So, I just had my optician check my eyesight and sign off the form ahead of my medical later this week. No issues with colour vision and all the extra bits, and aided vision is 6/4 in each eye individually and together. Unfortunately my unaided vision has been rated at 6/38 binocular, with the standard being 6/36. Obviously I'm going to wait and see what they say at my medical about it, and see if they double check it etc. I was wondering if anyone had any experience of vision ratings that are that close, as well as if anyone has had any experien…

Hello, I passed an assessment centre with TVP in February but my final interview kept getting postponed and I still have not yet had it so looked into transferring my scores across to another force. I sent out various emails to other forces and had a reply from Warwickshire and West Mercia police to say that they could transfer scores across. Does anyone know what their recruitment process is after the assessment centre, do they also hold final interviews? Many thanks

Hi guys, I am currently going through the recruitment process with Warwickshire. Has anyone on here had there medical for Warwickshire yet? I was talking to a friend the other day and he told me that he had to give a hair sample for the substance misuse test with the Metropolitan Police! I stupidly took a legal high at a music festival over a year ago now. I have no concerns that it would show up on a standard substance misuse test (mouth swab and urine test), however I am aware that hair samples show signs of drug use for a long period of time! Anybody know if Warwickshire do the hair sample test? I am hugely embarrassed and regretful for taking the legal high but …

Hi all, Are there any current PCSO's applying for the PC positions at Warwickshire/West Mercia at the moment? I'm a PCSO in West Mids (for 5 years now) and I have my fitness for Warwickshire/West Mercia next week. Does anyone know:- 1) how far back they go for employment references 2) PCSO's going through the PC recruitment - did they contact HR or did they contact your sarge? 3) And also if they always contact personal references? None of my referees have been contacted yet so I was just wondering.... Thanks

Hi there guys! This is my first post on here so I need to get to grips with the basics! Basically, I have passed all of the recruitment stages and have finally been accepted with Warwickshire Police! *woop!* I have a question though; soon, I will be assigned a station which will more than likely by my actual home town station (Justice Centre Nuneaton). I have been given dates for my formal training at Leek Wootton, which lasts around 11 weeks. In the mean time, will I be on duty for these weeks? I.e. will I be on duty with another officer and at the weekend (or dates given) do my training along side these dates, or do I have to wait 11 weeks until I can start? Thanks…

This is going to sound like a really stupid question but I don't want to fail the papersift! :new_doh2: Can you complete the application form electronically or do I have to fill it all out by hand? At the beginning of the form it says "You must complete all sections of this form in person, in either black ink or typeface". I was going to fill the form in electronically but do the competency questions by hand as that section says they're specifically assessing your handwriting and SPAG.

Hey guys, I'm asking on behalf of a friend as I'm already a serving special. How long did the recruitment process take with Warwickshire police specials? For staffs when I did it, it took roughly 6 months, I was just wondering do Warwickshire police push applicants through quickly? Kind regards Rich.

Hi guys I have just been informed that I have passed my assessment day and I have my fitness test next week. Is the bleep test assessed? What I mean by that is are they just looking for you to get to the 5.4 and that's it or will you be competing with the others and will they assess how far you get? I am at a reasonable standard of fitness and 5.4 does not concern me however I'm by no means super fit and if the others continue running to level 10+ I will definitely not keep up. It might be a stupid question but I thought I had better ask. If it's not assessed the sensible thing to do would just stop at 5.4 and save your energy. Thanks Matt

Hi all, just wondering if anyone is going through the application process at the moment, I've had my results for the application form and am now on a waiting list for an assessment day, and am on tenterhooks! Is anyone else waiting, and how long have you been waiting for if you are? Curious as to how long I might have to get into slightly better shape for it . . .
