I've just returned from a most enjoyable few days at an International Police Association conference on the topic of reserve policing. The conference was held at a rather super castle in the middle of nowhere somewhere in Germany! Super castle! One of the presentations was by an Inspector in the PSNI (Police Service of Northern Ireland) about their part-time reserve, who are basically like Specials. Since I was largely ignorant of the reserve until I went along to this meeting, I thought it'd be useful to share some of that information here.
