.......... that an annual demonstration of historic relevance was to take place; And those involved assembled their clans and groups, and their bands of music, so for as to celebrate with great fervour and loyal reverence; And this knowledge did make itself known to the SMT; and didst they consult the crystal ball known as 'intelligence' but it remained resolutely dark and un-giving of knowledge. So the SMT, fearing mighty anger and fearsome vengence, as well as a few broken windows, didst marshal their forces so as to repel and control the men of loyalty. And did the legions come from far and wide - from the south, from the west, from the south west, indeed from all …

It's where it is. 'Imminent' they are calling it. The only people who know are those who are most at risk, i.e., you guys. Take real good care, take no chances and trust your instincts. Do what you need to and worry about the b/s later, your lives are more important. Learn from the lessons of the past, and the mistakes of others. Use the PM if you need to for advice or any other contact. We are here for each other. Stay safe, folks, this is the dark time.

....to say 'thanks', and to get it in writing! Yes, it's that dirty three-letter word, and I don't mean 'RUC'......

I notice that there is current advertising for civilian Financial Investigators and I think there was a recent campaign for civilian "Assistant Investigators", both posts involving pretty sharp end stuff like interviewing suspects. If these roles can be done by staff who aren't police officers, why are there police officers still employed in mundane roles like property/evidence stores, custody, etc etc.? Seems a strange place to start civilianising - at the front of house rather than the back room staff -

Does anybody know why the PSNI is the only force / service in the UK who dont have a Special Constabulary? I know that the Paten report said that Reserve Constables should be phased out and I know that now you can be come a Regular officer - Part time. Why no volunteer Part time police service? Surely this could help with the policing situation in N.Ireland. Is there plans for Specials to become part of the PSNI? Thanks

Hello. Hard to know what to put in this forum, that won't be discected by 'various people' in 'various roles'. In the force that guards the star cluster, there are many wonderful things going on that only certain people(about 8,500) know about that cost a lot of money that they allegedly don't have, like the 'Single White Elephant' project that will replace all dangerous pieces of office stationary equipment with one universal item. The problem is that the idea of 'one pencil fits all' has proved to be a real money pit, due to those upstairs not taking end-user advice about the design of the proposed pencil and the add-ons that are already available on the pencils alrea…

I'm currently looking at these two articles and how they are applied in NI. I've looked at PACE Code H but is there a specific form of words that should be used when giving these special warnings? I'm already familiar with the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, sections 36 and 37 having researched these on PNLD and NPIA practice advice guides. But is there a difference in the application of article 5 & 6 in NI compared to s.36 & 37 in E&W? Any help would be much appreciated

Back in Belfast about three weeks ago and hopefully going to begin my studies in Forensic science. Looked at the PSNI website for information on becoming a crime scene Investigator but couldn't find anything. Any assistance in this would be much appreciated. All the best Robert

In line with the 'specials 2021', where will the PSNI be in 10 years time? All working out of one big station in the middle of Lough Neagh? Disbanded? Working alongside the green army? For a start, I see us (hope for us) getting an increase in numbers. Unfortunatley i see us losing a few more colleagues too though

Now that mainland forces are all moving towards a UK wide uniform and away from golfing slacks and white shirts and ties for operational officers, is it time the PSNI did the same??
