Hello, I was just wondering whether the Training Centre at HQ has a residential block, ie could you stay there overnight (for a cost) during training. If not, are there any cheap B and B's in the locality. Thanks. Neil

Nearly at the end of training. 4 of 12/13 have their community practical on Saturday 10th August and then to be attested on 14th August. Training has gone so quick but will be out in the big bad world in no time!

Sorry if its another of of them threads. Just a quick one, the northyorkshire police final interview for Pc, are the questions based around the same competencies from the assessment centre.

I've been accepted for the assesment centre next week. If I'm not nervous enough I am also concerned about the vetting stage. My brother was convicted of driving under the influence of drugs and therefore spent time on prison. If I was lucky enough to pass the assesment centre do you think my brothers past convictions will go against me?

It has recently been suggested recently by a chief constable in the North of England that the wearing of armour could be made mandatory in his force.Should this be the case would it not give the wrong impression to the public,are we even getting paranoid about the risks of being assaulted, based on the balance of probabilities.Is the armour as others have suggested not fit for purpose and uncomfortable to drive in.Should we, as one correspond in the letters forum of Police Oracle suggests "start upping the anti" Rich.

NYP have opened up Standard search training to the Specials. Initially we are doing the same two day course as the regulars then they are looking at breaking the course down to fit into the regular monthly training sessions. Day one was person search, open area and misper, today we are looking at vehicle and house search.

Hello Guys and Girls, I have just had a phone call to say that I have passed the initial application stage and currently waiting on a date to start the assessment center. Could anyone please give me some information about the assessment center, what I would have to prepare myself for and any other important information would be perfect. Thank You All, Luke

I'm a Cambs officer wanting to return to my homeland of North Yorks! Saw that there were two transferee recruitment programmes last year but I stupidly didn't apply. Does anyone know if there are any plans to take on transfers this year? Continually pestering your HR but I think if I ring anymore I'll get a harassment warning..... Thanks, Sam

Hello All, I wish to re-apply for the North Yorkshire Police for the position of Special Constable. The only problem I have is the "Time and Organisation" question on the recruitment form. I have finished the "Race and Diversity" question, but I want to think of a professional answer but I cannot seriously think of anything for the "Time and Organisation" Question. This will be my second time applying as I failed that question before. I really hope someone can help me as I really want to become a special. Thank You for your time reading this. Luke
