I've just heard back from Gwent Police after applying to be a Special in September. Anyone else heard back from them today?

Any one know when Gwent will be recruiting specials again.

Hey i recently started Police cadets in Newport and i was just wondering can we claim/ get free bus's to and from training and when we go out on to the beat many thanks Dan

I'm interested in whether Gwent specials are allowed to drive at Basic, Standard or Advanced level. The PoliceSpecials uber driving post has no mention for Gwent. Can any of you shed any light?

Morning all! I'm looking to join Gwent Police either on this years intake of Specials, or when I finish my degree (and hopefully when the force's finances are a little less precarious), and I've done a bit of reading on the selection process. One thing that worries me is the numerical reasoning aspect of the PIRT as my maths is a bit shoddy, I get stressed when I get low scores on practice tests. Could anyone tell me what score would be considered a pass? I've read that it's only weighed up against others who sit the test, but on another thread I have read that a potential PCSO failed by one mark; could anyone just clarify the policy that Gwent Police has adopted. Hi all, To those of you who have passed the selection process with Gwent Police: out of all the stages through recruitment what stages would you say were the hardest? I've heared mixed opinions - The paper-sift application and the PIR tests; I've heard them to be the hardest stages which cause the most candidates to fail, is this correct? I've got my interview with Gwent, is it plain sailing from here? Providing my fitness/medical and vetting comes through? Not wanting or wishing to be complacent; just wanting to establish the facts. If anyone can post here and give best advice for the interview prep, it'll be much appreciated...

Just curious who else applied. Handed in my application form last friday and today got a letter saying thanks for the application form and that they'll let me know if i've been succesfull or not. It'll be nice if someone else here has as you get a rough idea when your likely to hear something then. Im assuming i should hear something next week as it seems most forces dont take long to let you know wether you've passed the first stage or not.
