Well hello there! I got to the assessment day and realised that for 2 - 3 weeks I have been revising all the wrong stuff. I had been revising the old way they used to do it but after completing the assessment day after 8 days, yesterday I got the email saying I've been successful and that I got 56% overall! Which made me just scrape through! (Which ain't bad considering I was learning the old way) But they are going to be giving first apointments to candidates over 75% :/ anybody have an idea on how long it will take for them to get back to me? ThankS in advance Duaine

Hello all! i'm currently doing the recruitment stage as a special constable for Gloucestershire police, but ive heard a few rumours that I need to police away from my own town. Is this correct or is that a load of cobblers? cheers Duaine

Good afternoon all! I have been invited to attend an assessment for becoming a special constable, only i'm just filling in my vetting questionaire and I have come across a question I'm stuck on. It is page 5 where it asks about my brothers and sisters, now I have 3 brothers and 3 sister's. All are half siblings other than my 1 brother who is full, and I only keep in touch with 3 of them and haven't spoke to the other 3 for years. Do I still put them on the vetting questionaire even though I don't know their addresses? As I don't want to not put them on there and that ruin my chances of passing the vetting section. If you could please reply on what you suggest me to do,…

Hello all! As you can all see from the title i'm slightly worrying about my medical because of the eye test - i went to the opticians today and they told me that i have a lazy left eye and that i am also longsighted. Now because of this i think that i will fail the requirements needed Any recommendations as to what to do? cheers duaine

I just found yesterday I failed the Police SEARCH assessment centre, and have a few questions somebody can hopefully answer for me as it is unclear. My overall percentage was 58% With working with others 58% Oral Communication- 98% Written Communication - 22%. They said that although I hit the minimum overall percentage, I however didn't hit the minimum percentage for written communication. My question is why did I score so badly in this area? I looked through my written tests and got solid B's throughout them all but in both failed the written communication by getting two D's. How could I get solid B's for my solutions etc but therefore get a D? Thanks for any ex…

Hello all, I have just registered on this site as I am currently in the process of applying Gloucestershire Constabulary as a SC. My application has been accepted and my AC date is Saturday 28 January. I have been reading posts on the site with interest and thought it was about time I introduced myself. In way of a brief background, my name is Oliver and I'm 35 years old. I served in the Royal Air Force for five years having left university and have since worked in civvie street running my own company. I have recently moved back to Gloucestershire having spent time living in Buckinghamshire. Whilst there I joined the TA and donated most of my spare time to running …

Hey Guys, This has probably been covered somewhere else on the forums no doubt but still it never hurts to ask the question again and then get some new responses..... Boot Polishing & Bulling up... I can polish my boots enough to get a bit of a shine on them and make them look very presentable, but what are the best techniques to bulling them up and have an amazing parade style shine to them?? Feel free every body to help out, ill provide the polish if you fancy showing me how its done... L O L Cheers guys Stitchy

Hi everyone, I'm after a bit of advice on maybe re-joining Gloucestershire Constabulary but I have a bit of a story. I actually joined as a Special about 2 years ago but I only lasted about 12 months due to having a rough time with work. As soon as I passed training I was made redundant which hit me hard and when I did get a job I was sent to various places away from home which meant it was just not possible to carry out any duties so I handed in my notice. I was not in a good place at the time so I feel it was a good decision although I didn't want to leave after the hard work of getting there. About 4 months later (earlier this year) I approached one of my superiors …
