Hi all, I'm due to go out on community placement next week, where I'll be spending time at the Coroner's office, a mental health ward and youth probation service. I'm looking forward to it massively and I'm sure I'll get heaps out of the week, however, I'm slightly nervous about the probation service. I've been told I'm going out with the unpaid work people but that's all I'm aware of. Do any of you have experience of spending time with youth offenders? Should I identify myself as a trainee officer or steer clear? It is, of course, entirely possible I'm over thinking this.
