Home News Child sex offender used online chat rooms to groom victims Return to News 10 March 2017 A County Tyrone man has been sentenced today after pleading guilty to 41 offences including grooming children under 13 online to perform sexual acts on camera. Michael Dynes, aged 39, from the Dungannon area was arrested in June 2015 as part of Operation Jarra, the joint PSNI/NCA investigation into accessing indecent images of children online. NCA officers conducted a search of his home and seized multiple electronic devices. Home News Doctor went on the run after arrest for obscene images Return to News 8 March 2017 A Romanian doctor who skipped bail after being arrested for possessing indecent images of children and extreme pornography has been given a prison sentence. Border Force officers at Dover stopped Ioan Boila, 55, from Alba Iulia in Romania in January 2013. In his car officers found a number of DVDs and VHS videos. The DVDs contained obscene images of women torturing animals. Return to News 4 March 2017 Eighteen people have been arrested as part of an international investigation into the smuggling of illegal migrants from Greece into Italy. Those arrested, all men aged between 18 and 23, were held after a series of raids in Crete yesterday (3 March), following an operation involving the Hellenic Police, Hellenic Coastguard and National Crime Agency. 112 migrants were rescued after being found in a cave and farm buildings close to the village of Tsoutsouros, Southern Crete. Return to News3 March 2017 A former family law solicitor has pleaded guilty to a number of child sex offences today at Bristol Crown Court. David Regan, 44, from London was arrested by officers from the National Crime Agency in September 2014 following a wider child abuse investigation. He was released on bail pending further enquiries but was identified in a separate investigation and re-arrested on the 9th of January 2017. Warwick Brooks, 42, had more than 3,000 indecent images of children on five electronic devices and trawled the dark web for abuse pictures. Return to News 14 February 2017 Two men in their thirties have been arrested by National Crime Agency officers in connection with bribery offences as part of an ongoing investigation into international cricket match spot-fixing. The men were arrested on Monday 13 February and have been released on bail until April 2017 pending further enquiries. As part of the on-going investigation we are working closely with the Pakistan Cricket Board and International Cricket Council’s anti-corruption units. Return to News 10 February 2017 A “predatory” child abuser who used gaming networks to groom his victims was today sentenced to three years and eight months in prison following an investigation by the National Crime Agency (NCA). Christopher Topliss (pictured), 29, of Carlisle, started conversations with children on a games console network and then helped them to win in order to groom them. Officers from the NCA’s National Cyber Crime Unit discovered Topliss had established online relationships with a number of girls under sixteen and in one case had travelled to meet and abuse a victim. On the afternoon of Thursday 9 February a member of the public contacted Norfolk Police having discovered a number of holdalls on Hopton Beach near Great Yarmouth.
