Four Manchester men involved in an £800,000 cannabis trafficking operation have been sentenced to a combined 13 years and nine months in prison following a National Crime Agency investigation. Daniel Gore, 41, Javid Ahmed, 49, John Arnold, 56, and Scott Hoolighan, 36, were arrested in February 2018 when 110kg of cannabis was intercepted in a flatbed van by NCA officers as it was transported from Northolt, London to Manchester. Remembering Police Constable Roger Brereton, of Thames Valley Police, who died on duty on this day in 1987. Our colleague Roger was among 16 victims who lost their lives in the Hungerford shooting 33 years ago today. A convicted Bradford drug dealer has been ordered to hand over almost £137,000 of illicit profits following a National Crime Agency investigation. Yusuf Kara, 30, of Lidget Green, Bradford was given a confiscation order totalling £136,907.81 at Leeds Crown Court on Friday 14 August under the Proceeds of Crime Act. Kara was warned he would serve up to a further 16 months in prison if he failed to pay the full sum within three months, and would still be liable for the money. Two men suspected of facilitating illegal immigrants into the UK have been arrested as part of a National Crime Agency (NCA) investigation. The duo, who are Afghan nationals with UK residency and aged 23 and 21, were arrested this morning near a retail park in Slough, Berkshire, in the company of two Afghan illegal immigrants. All four were arrested as part of an NCA investigation into modern slavery and organised immigration crime.
