Latest news Investigation launched after teenager stabbed in Birmingham city centre 23/08/2016 An investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed in Birmingham city centre, just before midnight yesterday (Monday 22 August). The man, thought to be in his late teens, was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. An area of Carrs Lane and Moor Street has been sealed off while forensic experts examine the scene. No arrests have been made at this stage, but officers are trawling to CCTV to trace the offender and a number of witnesses have been spoken to. Latest news Fatal crash closes M6 21/08/2016 Motorway police are investigating the cause of a fatal crash on the M6 earlier this afternoon (Sunday 21 August). Multiple 999 calls were received by police at around 3pm. All emergency services and Highways England were immediately dispatched to the northbound section of the motorway between junctions 10 and 10A A van pulling a trailer, a car, and a heavy good vehicle were involved. Latest news Witness appeal after baby dies in Walsall collision 21/08/2016 Police are appealing for witnesses after a four-month-old baby girl has died following a collision on the Birmingham Road in Walsall on Friday evening (19 August), just before 8:50pm. The baby, who was travelling in red Ford Focus, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, several other people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Mavis Storey was crossing the junction of Bloxwich Road and Leamore Lane just before midday on Saturday (13 August) when she was struck by a silver VW Golf just yards from her home. Latest news Bilston company and boss found guilty of manslaughter 16/08/2016 A Bilston company has today (Tuesday 16 August) been fined £600,000 after being found guilty of gross negligence and manslaughter following the death of an employee. The company’s owner, Bikram Mahli, from Yale Road, Willenhall, was also found guilty of manslaughter by gross negligence at Wolverhampton Crown Court and sentenced to two years in prison suspended for two years.
