Latest news Murder inquiry launched in Washwood Heath 11/09/2016 Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a man was killed in the Washwood Heath area of Birmingham last night (10 September). Officers were called to Highfield Road just before 10pm to reports of several men involved in a fight. When emergency services arrived at the scene they found a man in his 20s had suffered a suspected stab wound. He was treated by paramedics but nothing could be done to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
