Ryan1994 * 0
Hello, when I was either 18 or 19 I was arrested, and pepper sprayed for being drunk and disorderly. Long story short I was escorting a very drunk friend to a taxi when a gang of guys decided it would be fun to kick my friends pizza out of his hands. an argument ensued between my friend and the other guys. whilst I tried to calm the situation down I was punched without provocation. Before I could even realise what was going on I had been pulled away from the area with my eyes on fire. I didn't throw a punch and genuinely just wanted to go home. The police when I got back to the cells commented on how polite I had been the whole time and let me off with a fine. I am not a violent person and this was my first time of being in a bit of a fight in town, and my last! I have always wanted to join the police and now I am now 25 I feel the time is right to apply. Will the fact that I have had a drunk and disorderly incident affect my chances? (This was in 2012 or 2013) Also I got caught driving above the speed limit in 2017 and did a speed awareness course. Other than this I have not had so much as a parking ticket. Please put me out of my misery as I feel one stupid drunken mistake over five years ago is going to affect me for the rest of my life. Indiana Jones + 1,103
It's all on a case by case basis. Disclose everything on the forms, hide nothing, be up front. If you try to get around the system, it'll bite you on the backside.
Techie1 + 2,024
On an unrelated matter, it might be worth changing your profile photo, assuming that's a photo of you! Best to be careful around social media etc
