No sound

Hi can anyone help

For some reason I cannot hear any sound on embedded vidieos or on utube. I can hear the sound ok when it is a file stored on my computer but not when streaming

Ok thanks Cheets, it was the shockwave plug-in that had decided to disable itself - why does it do that ?

Possibly it had updated itself and once it restarted itself it was set to be off.
