Gingeriron 0
After pretending i know what i'm doing and buying some radio keys to remove the radio and check the aerial, i've decided i'd best ask the question to see if anybody has any ideas whats wrong. I've got a Mk1 Focus, when using the radio i am able to play CD's perfectly, however at first the stereo part would sometimes work and then not, now it won't at all, all i get is like a whistling noise that comes and goes. I've removed the head unit (i think it's called that) and the aerial is still connected which was my first idea with what could be wrong. Does anybody have any other suggestions? SteveO1546080853 14
More likely to be a problem at the aerial end... very common for rubber seals on the aerial base to perish...water gets in and wreaks havoc on the wiring
Administrative Account 7
If it's the radio you mean, and not the CD player bit, it could be the engine suppressor is gone which will interfere with that radio signal - and anyone else's within five miles as you go past! Administrative Account 7
Has your car got a roof mounted aerial or one of those that use the heated rear screen elements as the antenna?
