GodAtum 0
Had trouble getting into work this morning, not sure how I will get home. There are no buses running to where I live and there are no other public transport options. It's 4 miles to my nearest rail station to get into London so took me over an hour to walk there! Could TFL compenstate me getting a taxi?

((TheShake))1546081325 487
How long/far was that?! It's about a 15 minute walk. I usually get the bus down to Lewisham (zone 2) because it saves me money but I had to pay the extra for having to go to a zone 3 train station. Could TFL compenstate me getting a taxi? From the TfL Conditions of Carriage: 11.4. If our bus services are disrupted by strike action, you can contact the Customer Service Centre, London Buses, for information about how to claim a refund if available. Kellym82 227
I was lucky - had 1 bus run past where I live! Although the 4 of us at my stop were the last ones to get on before the tube station, which is about a 10 minute bus ride. Getting my fella to pick me up and take me home as there is no way I will be able to get on a bus home from the tube station - they're usually full anyway when it's normal service! GodAtum 0
I've had to miss an important social event this evening as there would be no night buses home
((TheShake))1546081325 487
Had to walk home from Lewisham train station. 2 miles in 35 mins and I didn't see a single bus going the same direction as me.
GodAtum 0
It's a pain. In central london at least you can take the tube but in the suburbs there are no other options.

I've got to make the return journey this evening for duty and I just hope that a bus comes along so I don't have to walk or get a taxi!
General Purpose 175
Just thinking outside the box: what if the emergency services went on strike, but only to TFL bus drivers...
Dave SYP + 2,961
I think we might see a few more controversial transport issues what with sports day on the doorstep. It will certainly give them more leverage on any pay and conditions issues, etc.
