Can-Am motorcycle

My brother is interested in one of these, however he only has a Full UK Car licence.

Would he require a Full UK Motorcycle licence in order to ride this, or is it the same as a reliant robin? Where it kind of straddles both?

If anyone can shed any light I'd be very grateful, I'm googling now also, but he asked if I'd ask on here so here I am. :D

Q - What type of driver’s licence is required?

A - Most jurisdictions in Europe at the exception of Greece require a valid car licence to operate the Can-Amâ„¢ Spyderâ„¢ Roadster. In other countries and especially in North America, some juridictions require a valid motorcycle or three-wheel licence. We invite you to contact your local authorities to obtain the licence and vehicle registration information that applies to you.

Thank you kindly :raz:

It would almost definably be category B1

B1

Motor tricycles, quadricycles and three or four wheeled vehicles with an unladen weight no more than 550 kg

Check drivers licence to see if you have it, you get it when you pass your car test since 1997 (possibly before) and/or your motorcycle test pre 1997, its the same category as a robin reliant

iagree.gif Because the front wheels are too far apart it becomes a tricycle. I believe the defining point is 450-500mm.

Thank you, I shall let him know, it's not for me, it's for my brother, I prefer 2 wheels to 3 or 4  he only passed it a couple of years ago I think, 3 at the most.

Cool, thanks for the info.

I have no idea, but they look ace! I want one!!!

They do look quite cool, I like the white tourer style one, but like I say, I love my Deauville too much, I might consider one when I get older or too unstable on 2 wheels. But they're ridiculously expensive, about £10,000 second hand '08 model :S bit rich for my blood.

But thanks to all for replying, I'll +1 you all, and copy and paste all this to my bro, thanks again.
