I seem to read conflicting stuff lol Thanks If you passed your car driving test before 1 February 2001 you don't need to complete a CBT course to ride a moped. taken from DirectGov
maka 7
i would however recommended it, yes it is in the way of £100 but it's good to get some input into how to ride it. but as stated, legally, no of course first advice given assuming you have never been on two wheels. but you can ride a moped, a moped is legally defined as under 50cc so you can not have a 125, for this you would need to take a CBT as a 125cc motorbike or scooter and ride with L plates until your light motorcycle test is passed, any 125 is classed as a motorcycle by law. an unrestricted 50cc that can exceed 28/30mph falls under the same category. 125cc scooter - CBT needed 50cc scooter/moped, not needed if you passed your test before the 2001 'cut off' Edited July 27, 2011 by maka
