Gingeriron 0 Posted March 19, 2011 Share Posted March 19, 2011 Forgive me if i'm being a bit thick, i'm going to be training for my PCV licence next month when i start my new job, i've tried making sense out of the DVLA booklet that has the different categories in it and can't, what i've been trying to work out is whether once i've passed my test will the category D cover me for vehicles which need a D1 entitlement. D1 is the smaller version of D - so you get it automatically if you pass in a D vehicle. Normally your licence is "credited" with D until your 45th birthday (extendable by medical examinations) and a D1 until a later birthday (I think it's your 70th but I haven't got access to a licence at the mo).
