Gelf 201 Posted October 25, 2010 Share Posted October 25, 2010 its down to you, they are just worried that the straps will dammage the spoiler, I had the same problem a while ago and decided to just buy one anyway and it worked fine, the only other ones I found that didnt have straps were too expensive! I've never dealt with them, so have no idea what they're like) The original idea was an American design I believe. I've had one for years. You simply unbolt the tow ball, put the base on and bolt the tow ball back over the top. The two arms of the cycle carrier then slot (and pin) into the base as needed. Oddone 39 Posted October 26, 2010 Share Posted October 26, 2010 As some one who worked for Halfrauds (my own opinion and not that of PS.Com) For an awfull long time. Ive fitted numerous High Mount cycle carriers to cars with roof top spoilers and had no problems what so ever. They put those warnings on to cover there own backside. The spoilers only really risk being damaged if the carrier if fitted losely and it jumps about. If you get the carrier on the back of the vehicle as tight as you can you should be fine.
