Strathy- + 171
Anyone got one? Looking at 2006> version I've got my eyes on a 1.8, but wondered what the 1.4 is it as rubbish as I expect? Anyone had much problems with them? They good to drive?
Vixxer 36
Get a 1.8 VVTi or 1.9 CDTi Astra Sports Hatch instead. Much nicer cars. My old Astra... I really miss this car
Strathy- + 171
I was looking at that as well or a focus zetec.
Vixxer 36
IMO it would go Astra, Focus then Civic. The civics are well built, but really basic inide. The seats aren't that comfy too IMHO.

Anyone had much problems with them? They good to drive? My workmate has one. He finds his 1.4 great and nippy. No complaints from him apart from he does notice the lack of power when tackling long upward hills. I'd personally go for the 1.8 if i was getting one. Yeah thats the problem I've got the now, driving a 1.4 and whenever you get to a hill or go to overtake it's murder! Went to buy a Focus today and someone bought it just as I was about to agree to the paper work. Been looking for an Astra as well but for some reason the 3dr ones are hard to find :S
Soapyw 38
My last car was a 55 plate 2.2 diesel civic, lovely car. I'd have another, lots of electric toys you tend not to get for the same money on other cars. I recently had an astra hire car and I preferred the civic. How can you say a honda civic is basic inside compared to a focus or astra? have you sat inside a civic? they are like spaceships! We have the 2.2 litre civic and it goes like a rocket, got so much torque its a beauty.

If it's the new one, then yes I agree it's nice inside. But I thought he meant the old one?

Hence why all the mothers have them!!

Hence why all the mothers have them!! Indeed. I used to drive my mum's Jazz and every other Jazz I saw was being driven by a 60+ year old Not a bad little car though, lots of space. Not great on the motorway though, unless you got one of the more powerful models.
Burnie 2,084
Yeah thats the problem I've got the now, driving a 1.4 and whenever you get to a hill or go to overtake it's murder! try driving a 1.0 corsa then... In my 2 year driving career I think I've only made 3 or 4 overtaking maneouvres that weren't either on a dual carriageway or slow moving farm vehicles
